Manfred "Fred" Jansen (born November 6, 1956 in Geilenkirchen ) is a former German football player . In the 2nd Bundesliga he played 187 league games for Alemannia Aachen from 1975 to 1984, in which he scored ten goals.

career

Jansen first played in the youth and men's area for SV 09 Scherpenseel and VfR Übach-Palenberg before joining the professional team at Alemannia Aachen in 1975 . Under coach Horst Witzler he made his debut on September 27, 1975 in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 1: 3 away defeat against Wattenscheid 09, Jansen came on for Antoine Fagot in the 60th minute. With the 5th place under coach Erhard Ahmann he reached his best placement in the 1980/81 season with the Alemannia. For Aachen , the midfielder made 187 appearances and 10 goals in the 2nd Bundesliga in nine years . He also made twelve appearances in the DFB Cup . Constant coach changes determined his activity in Aachen. Starting with Witzler (until January 1976), going on with Gerhard Prokop via Ahmann, Ernst-Günter Habig , Horst Buhtz , Slobodan Cendic , again Ahmann from April 1983 to February 1984, ending with player- coach Rolf Grünther from February to June 1984, Jansen experienced the training ground several methodological and tactical directions on the Tivoli.

On the 38th matchday of the 1983/84 season, May 27, 1984, in the 3-0 defeat at Union Solingen, Manfred Jansen ended his career as a licensed player at Alemannia Aachen. He was then again active as a player for Übach-Palenberg and later as a youth supervisor at Alemannia and as a player-coach for various other clubs. Most recently, he worked for the district league club Eintracht Warden in 1991. His father Fred also played for Alemannia Aachen in the Oberliga West from 1949 to 1960 .
