Manfred Kleimann

Manfred Kleimann (born June 20, 1955 in Kassel ) is a German journalist and today's translator and editor. In the 1980s he was one of the pioneers of German-language computer game journalism .

life and career

Manfred Kleimann was born in Kassel in 1955. After graduation, he first completed a study for a graduate engineer from for town and country planning. He then worked as a trainee at a local advertising paper before making contact with Tronic-Verlag. There he conceived and designed the magazine Aktueller Software Markt (ASM) in 1986 , of which he also became the first editor-in-chief. The ASM was one of the very first magazines that was mainly devoted to the subject of computer games . In later years the magazine competed with Power Play , which was then headed by Heinrich Lenhardt . Manfred Kleimann remained editor-in-chief of ASM until the end of 1991.

He then worked as a product manager at Konami in Frankfurt am Main . In 1992 Kleimann also worked briefly as a freelance editor for the Amiga Joker .

Today Kleimann lives with his family in Kassel and works as a freelance translator and editor.
