Manfred Klika

Manfred Klika (born October 14, 1942 ) is a German mathematician and university professor .

Life and research

Klika studied mathematics and physics at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 1964 to 1968, completing the first state examination. From 1969 to 1973 he was a research assistant there. In 1972 he did his doctorate with Günther Bach with the dissertation line maxima in generalized Pascal triangles . From 1973 to 2008 he was Academic Councilor and Academic Senior Councilor at the University of Hildesheim , where he completed his habilitation in 2000. In 2002 he was appointed as an adjunct professor. In 1977 he founded the journal mathematica didactica together with Hans Wolpersand was editor-in-chief of the magazine until 2007. Together with Hans Wolpers and Uwe Tietze, he is the editor and co-author of the three volumes of Mathematics Lessons in Secondary School II . From 2002 to 2004 he was co-editor of the journal Mathematische Semesterberichte . He has been a member of the Society for Didactics of Mathematics since 1978 and was a member of the GDM Advisory Board from 1985 to 1991. As a member of the ISTRON working group, he conducted research in the areas of didactics of analysis , application-oriented and reality-based mathematics teaching and modeling.
