Manfred Kolbe (Mayor)

Manfred Kolbe (born October 29, 1934 in Breslau ) is a former teacher and local politician.

Life

Kolbe has lived in Wolfsburg since 1956 and was the director of the Eichendorff School there. Beyond his professional sphere of activity, he campaigned for the common good in local politics. He was a member of the CDU of the City of Wolfsburg for 38 years , including almost ten years as mayor. He is currently chairman of the Wolfsburg community foundation and representative of the Lower Saxony State Seniors' Council for European partnerships.

  • In November 2007 he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Wolfsburg for his voluntary commitment and his high level of commitment to the community of the city .
  • In 2010 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class, for his services in local politics as well as in senior and social work .
