Manfred Krick (born May 15, 1956 in Arnsberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Krick attended elementary school and grammar school in Arnsberg and passed his Abitur there. He attended RWTH Aachen University , where he studied architecture and geography and education as a teacher. In 1981 he passed the diploma examination in the field of architecture.

Krick's professional career began with an architecture firm. He then did a construction traineeship at the Oberpostdirektion Düsseldorf , in Erkrath , in the Mettmann district and with the district president of Düsseldorf . After passing a state examination for the higher technical service to become a building assessor, Manfred Krick worked for the Deutsche Bundespost in the Oberpostdirections Koblenz and Düsseldorf as head of department for building construction. From 1991 to 1996 he was head of the building construction department of the city of Leverkusen , in 1996 he took over this office in Düsseldorf . There he has been head of the garden, cemetery and forest office since 2005. Manfred Krick is also a member of the NRW Chamber of Architects , worked as a freelancer for competitions and urban planning and was the founding director of the Benrath Palace and Park Foundation .

Manfred Krick is married and has three children.

Party and politics

Krick has been a member of the SPD since 1994. There he was assessor and secretary of the local Mettmann club . He has been a member of the district council since 2004, and has been the deputy district administrator of the Mettmann district since 2009 . In the state elections in 2012, he succeeded in entering the state parliament by winning the direct mandate in the Mettmann II constituency . There he was a member of the Petitions Committee, the Committee for Climate Protection, Environment, Nature Conservation, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, the Committee for Building, Housing, Urban Development and Transport and the sub-committee for state companies and special funds. In addition, he was a deputy member of the Committee on Family, Children and Youth and of the Climate Protection Plan subcommittee. At the end of the legislative period, he left the state parliament in 2017.
