The state electoral district Mettmann II (organizational number 37) is one of currently 128 electoral districts in North Rhine-Westphalia , each of which sends a member directly elected by a simple majority to the state parliament .
The constituency 37 Mettmann II includes the district towns of Erkrath and Haan as well as some electoral districts of Hilden and Mettmann in the Mettmann district . The division of Hilden took place for the first time for the state election in 2000, before the city still belonged completely to Mettmann I . Mettmann was divided for the first time in 2005, the other part was given to Mettmann IV .

In addition to the directly elected CDU candidate Dirk Untrieser, who was able to recapture the direct mandate for his party after five years, the FDP candidate Dirk Wedel was also elected via the state list of his party, who, however, already took up his mandate on June 29, 2017 because of the appointment resigned as State Secretary. The previous constituency member Manfred Krick of the SPD, however, missed the re-entry into the state parliament, because his list position 36 did not move.
