In addition to the constituency winner Olaf Lehne (CDU), who had already represented the constituency from 2005 to 2012 and recaptured it from the SPD after five years, the previous constituency member Markus Weske was elected to the state parliament via his party's state list. The previous Pirate MP Oliver Bayer resigned from the state parliament due to the failure of his party to pass the 5% hurdle .
