Markus Weske

Markus Herbert Weske (born September 16, 1968 in Hilden ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

biography

Markus Weske studied after high school and community service at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, graduating as a qualified pedagogue. Weske is married and has two children.

politics

Weske was Brigitte Speth's constituency employee from 1992 to 2002 , then from 2002 to 2012 deputy press spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , he won a direct mandate in the Düsseldorf I state electoral district . He entered the state parliament elected in 2017 via the state list.

Positions

Together with his fellow Member of Parliament, Martin-Sebastian Abel , he initiated a reform of the "immediate lifelong pensions" for (mayors) and district administrators. The initiative provides for retired electoral officials to be paid a pension after they have reached the age limit in future, in line with the claims of members of the state parliament, state and federal ministers.
