Brigitte Speth

Brigitte Speth (born November 6, 1944 in Masserberg ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school with the Abitur , she studied physics at the Technical University of Aachen from 1964 to 1969 . As a graduate physicist , she passed the state examination for teaching at grammar schools and worked as a teacher at various grammar schools. From 1978 to 1981 Speth was a research assistant at the State Institute for Schools and Further Education and from 1982 to 1985 organizational manager at a comprehensive school in Düsseldorf.

Speth has been a member of the SPD since 1979. She was and is represented in numerous bodies of the SPD, so u. a. as chairwoman of the SPD sub-district of Düsseldorf and as federal chairwoman of the working group for social democrats in the education sector . She is also a member of the Public Services, Transport and Traffic and Workers Welfare Union .

From May 30, 1985 to June 2, 2005 Speth was a member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia . She was directly elected in constituencies 049 Düsseldorf VI and V respectively.

Others

Speth was a member of the twelfth Federal Assembly , which on May 23, 2004 elected Federal President Horst Köhler .
