The state electoral district of Rhein-Sieg-Kreis I (organizational number 25) is one of currently 128 electoral districts in North Rhine-Westphalia , each of which sends a member directly elected by a simple majority to the state parliament .

The district 25 Rhein-Sieg-Kreis I includes the towns and communities of Eitorf , Hennef , Lohmar , Much , Neunkirchen-Seelscheid , Ruppichteroth and Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district .

State election 2017

124,349 residents were entitled to vote in the state elections on May 14, 2017 . The turnout was 69.0%.

In addition to the constituency winner Björn Franken (CDU), who was able to recapture the constituency mandate for his party after five years and thus moved into parliament for the first time, the Green candidate Horst Becker succeeded in re-entering the state parliament for the fourth time in a row via his party's state list . The previous constituency member Dirk Schlömer (SPD) left the state parliament because his 64th place on the list was not enough.

State election 2012

122,738 residents were entitled to vote in the early state elections on May 13, 2012 . The turnout was 60.3%. In addition to the directly elected MP Dirk Schlömer, Horst Becker also became a member of the state parliament via the state list of the Greens.

In the state elections in 2010, Andreas Krautscheid (CDU) prevailed. The CDU politician, however, resigned his mandate on February 28, 2011 and switched to the Association of German Banks. As in 2005, Horst Becker again moved into the state parliament via the Green State List.

The directly elected MP for the constituency of Rhein-Sieg-Kreis I until 2005 was Hans Peter Lindlar (CDU), who had to resign from his mandate on August 3, 2005 due to his appointment as regional president of the Cologne administrative district. In addition to him, Horst Becker also entered the state parliament via his party's state list.
