The state constituency of Recklinghausen IV is a state constituency in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It includes the communities of Haltern am See and Oer-Erkenschwick as well as the districts of Deuten, Lembeck, Rhade and Wulfen of the city of Dorsten , the districts of Hüls-Süd and Sinsen-Lenkerbeck of the city of Marl and the district electoral district I in the northwest of the municipality of Datteln .

The constituency was newly formed for the 2005 state elections . It emerged roughly from the constituency of Recklinghausen IV, as it was formed for the state election in 2000 (Datteln, Haltern, Oer-Erkenschwick). Before that it included the communities of Castrop-Rauxel and Waltrop .

The constituency is represented by the directly elected constituency member Josef Hovenjürgen (CDU), who has been a member of the state parliament since 1999 with one interruption from 2000 to 2002 and who was able to recapture the direct mandate from the SPD after five years. The previous constituency member Hans-Peter Müller (SPD) left the state parliament because his 28th place on the list was not enough for him to move back in. The previous pirate member Nicolaus Kern only ran for election in the constituency and no longer on the state list, so that his departure from the state parliament was practically certain before the election.
