Minuscule 79 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 1209 ( from Soden ) is a Greco-Latin minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 208 sheets of parchment (16.5 × 12 cm). Using paleography , the manuscript was dated to the 15th century. The handwriting is incomplete.

description

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels with a large gap in Matthew 1,1-14,13. It was written in two columns (Greek right) with 26–28 lines each. It contains κεφαλαια (up to Matthew), (up to τιτλοι), αναγνωσεις (after Matthew), Synaxarion , and pictures.

The Greek text of the Codex is a mixture of different text types, but with the numerous Byzantine reading. Kurt Aland didn't put it in any category .

history

Georg Douza brought this manuscript from Constantinople to Amsterdam in 1597. The manuscript was examined by Frans Comer of Bruges.

The code is currently in the Leiden University Library (BP Gr. 74) in Leiden .
