The state electoral district Rhein-Erft-Kreis III is a state electoral district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It includes the municipalities of Brühl , Erftstadt and Wesseling in the Rhein-Erft district (Erftkreis until 2003), and the Kerpen districts of Balkhausen , Brüggen and Türnich were added to the 2010 state election .
history
For the state election in 1980, the constituencies in North Rhine-Westphalia were redistributed. This is how the Landtag electoral district 11 Erftkreis III - Euskirchen I came into being , which comprised the communities of Brühl, Erftstadt and Wesseling from what was then Erftkreis and the communities of Weilerswist and Zülpich from the Euskirchen district. All other communities in the Euskirchen district formed the Euskirchen II constituency , both constituencies together corresponded to the Euskirchen - Erftkreis II federal constituency, which still exists in this form today .
In 1990 there was a first change, whereby the constituency Erftkreis III - Euskirchen I lost parts of Zülpich to Euskirchen II . In 2000, the constituencies in Erftkreis and Euskirchen were completely redistributed, Brühl, Erftstadt and Wesseling now formed constituency 14 Erftkreis IV . The redistribution of the constituencies for the 2005 state elections had no impact on this constituency, only that the constituency has been called Rhein-Erft-Kreis III since then . In 2010 the electoral area was changed again, as the Kerpen districts Balkhausen, Brüggen and Türnich were added from the constituency Rhein-Erft-Kreis II . Weilerswist and Zülpich have been part of the Euskirchen I state electoral district since 2005 .
From 1980 to 2000, the SPD was always able to win the constituency for itself, in 2005 the CDU won for the first time, which also won it in 2010 and 2017. In the meantime, Dagmar Andres managed to temporarily win back the constituency for the SPD in 2012.
