The state constituency of Wuppertal I (organizational number 31) is one of currently 128 constituencies in North Rhine-Westphalia , each of which sends a member directly elected by a simple majority to the state parliament .

The Wuppertal districts of Oberbarmen , Heckinghausen , Langerfeld-Beyenburg and Ronsdorf belong to constituency 31 Wuppertal I as well as the district of Barmen, the Sedansberg district .

Hatzfeld was still a member of the 2005 state elections , and this is now assigned to the constituency of Wuppertal II.
