The state election Herford I - Minden-Lübbecke III since the covers state election in 2017 the communities Enger , Herford , Hiddenhausen and Vlotho in the Herford district and the districts of Bad Oeynhausen, Lohe and Rehme the city of Bad Oeynhausen in the Minden-Lübbecke . Until the state elections in 2012 , the constituency was called Herford I and the Bad Oeynhausern districts were still part of the Minden-Lübbecke III state electoral district .

Wolfgang Aßbrock died in December 2007. His successor was the then Minister for Building and Transport, Oliver Wittke (CDU), who did not represent the constituency in the state parliament, but moved up via the state list.
