The regional constituency of Aachen I is a constituency in North Rhine-Westphalia . It covers the northern part of the city of Aachen . If it initially comprised the districts of Haaren , Laurensberg , Mitte and Richterich , it later gave part of the center to Aachen II . For the 2010 state elections, the constituency of the Mitte district comprised the districts 10 Markt, 13 Theater, 14 Lindenplatz, 15 St. Jakob, 16 Westpark, 17 Hanbruch, 18 Hörn, 21 Ponttor, 22 Hansemannplatz, 23 Soers, 24 Jülicher Straße, 25 Kalkofen, 47 marching gate and 48 ponds. Compared to the state elections in 2005, the constituency lost the districts 31 Kaiserplatz and 32 Adalbertssteinweg, but gained 25 and 48.

As has been the case since 2010, the constituency is represented by the SPD MP Karl Schultheis. The list places of the MPs Ulla Thönissen (CDU, 33rd place) and Karin Schmitt-Promny (Greens, 17th place), who only moved up in the course of the last electoral term, were not enough for a return to the state parliament.
