Ulla Thönennis

Ulla Thönennis (born May 13, 1963 ) is a German CDU politician and former member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1982, Ulla Thönänen studied educational sciences / pedagogy at the University of Cologne from 1983 to 1987 . In 1987 she graduated as a qualified pedagogue . She then worked in family counseling from 1988 to 1995 . From 1995 to 2002 she headed the technical documentation department and was an authorized signatory in an engineering company. From 2002 to 2004 she was in charge of the EU internet project Icar . From 2004 to 2006 she was in charge of the “digital media and internet” department in a specialist psychiatric clinic. From 2004 to 2006 she had a teaching position at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia . Thönänen was a managing partner in a company in the social economy.

Since 2019 she has been the managing director of Metropolregion Rheinland eV.

She is the mother of two adult sons. In 2011 she was awarded the Helene Weber Prize .

politics

From September 2012 until her resignation in April 2018, Ulla Thönnisse was district chairwoman of the CDU Aachen. She is deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association Aachen and deputy chairwoman of the association assembly, Zweckverband Region Aachen. In 2014 Thönennis became a member of the Aachen City Council . Since 2009 she has been a member of the Aachen City Regions Day, where she was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from 2009 to 2015 and chairwoman since 2015.

Ulla Thönnis was a member of the 16th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , in which she replaced Volker Jung . In the state elections in 2017 , her position 33 on the list was not enough for her to move back in.

In the state parliament she was a full member of the main committee and the committee for local politics as well as a full member of the secretaries of the state parliament. She was a deputy member of the Committee for Economy, Energy, Industry, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts.
