Helene Weber Prize
The Helene Weber Prize is an award for women who are politically active at the local level.
history
The award is announced every two years by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth . It is named after the CDU Bundestag member Helene Weber (1881–1962). A cross-party jury chaired by Hermann Kues will decide on the award of the prize ; further members are Christine Bergmann , Marlies Brouwers , Hans-Günter Henneke , Irmgard Schwaetzer , Barbara Unmüßig , Heinz Vietze and Bernhard Vogel .
The Helene Weber Prize was first awarded to 15 women on May 5, 2009 by then Federal Family Minister Ursula von der Leyen .
