Barbara Becker (politician)

Barbara Becker (born June 18, 1969 in Schweinfurt ) is a German CSU politician . In 2018 she was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament.

Life

Becker attended the primary school in Hofheim in Lower Franconia and the Wiesentheid high school , where she graduated from high school in 1988. She then began teaching French and German for secondary level II at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg , which she finished without a degree. Instead, she switched to a degree in education in 1990, which she completed in 1996. She has been running a management consultancy since 1995.

Becker lives in Wiesenbronn . She is married and has two grown children.

politics

Becker has been a member of the Kitzingen district council since 2014 . There she sits on the committees for “Economy, Culture and Tourism”, “Environment, Transport and Public Transport” and “Family, Seniors and Integration”. In the state election on October 14, 2018 , she was elected as a direct candidate in the Kitzingen constituency in the Bavarian state parliament. Becker received 38.9 percent of the first votes. Becker is also a member of the Health and Care Committee.

During the first year as a directly elected constituency representative, she held personal meetings with all mayors and the two district administrators in her district of Kitzingen (Kitzingen district and parts of the Schweinfurt-Land district).

Since 2020 she has been appointed as a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Bavaria.

In the CSU, she has been elected on a voluntary basis as district chairwoman of the CSU district association Kitzingen since May 2019. She is also responsible as the Lower Franconian district chairman of the Evangelical Working Group (EAK) of the CSU. She is also the local chairwoman of the Women's Union in Kitzingen.
