The state electoral district Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis I (organizational number 21) is one of currently 128 electoral districts in North Rhine-Westphalia , each of which sends a member directly elected by a simple majority to the state parliament .

For constituency 21 Rheinisch-Bergisch District I includes the county's cities Bergisch Gladbach and Rösrath .

The state constituency Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis I was newly formed with the state elections in 2005. It emerged from the former constituency Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis III , which exclusively comprised Bergisch Gladbach. Rösrath was previously part of the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis II state electoral district .
