The state constituency Hochsauerlandkreis II is a state constituency in North Rhine-Westphalia . For the 2010 state elections, it will include the communities of Bestwig , Brilon , Hallenberg , Marsberg , Medebach , Meschede , Olsberg and Winterberg , which are part of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The constituency number is currently 125.

history

Today's constituency, Hochsauerlandkreis II, emerged from the constituency of Brilon in the 1980 state election; it comprised all the municipalities of today's constituency except for Meschede. In this layout it was largely congruent with the former district of Brilon . For the state election in 2000, however, it was renamed Hochsauerlandkreis I - Soest III, and its area was expanded to include the town of Rüthen in the Soest district. The reduction of the constituencies for the state elections in 2005 resulted in the dissolution of the constituency Hochsauerlandkreis III - Siegen-Wittgenstein I , the city of Meschede was added to the constituency, which was now called Hochsauerlandkreis II - Soest III. It was not until the state election in 2010 that Rüthen was reassigned to the Soest II state electoral district; its assignment to the previous electoral district caused criticism.
