Hans Watzke

Hans Watzke (born March 4, 1932 in Bochum ; † August 29, 2014 in Marsberg ) was a German CDU politician and a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament from 1975 to 1990.

Life and work

Due to the war, Watzke came to the Sauerland with his mother and in 1950 passed the journeyman's examination as a bricklayer . He then attended the State Engineering School for Civil Engineering in Hagen and graduated as a civil engineer (grad.) In 1958. Afterwards he was first a manager and after 1974 managing director of a construction company in Marsberg.

Political career

Watzke had been a member of the CDU since 1958. From 1981 to 1985 he was chairman of the CDU district association Hochsauerland. From 1969 to 1975 he was a member of the council of the Erlinghausen community , from 1964 to 1975 a member of the district council of the Brilon district and from 1969 to 1975 a member of the Westphalia-Lippe regional assembly . From 1984 he was a member of the council of Marsberg and from 1979 to 1999 a member of the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis .

From May 28, 1975 to May 30, 1990, Watzke was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the 8th electoral term in constituency 134 Brilon and in the 9th and 10th electoral term in constituency 143 Hochsauerlandkreis II.

In 1990 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Personal

Watzke is the father of the entrepreneur and football official Hans-Joachim Watzke .
