The state constituency of Märkischer Kreis I is a state constituency in the North Rhine-Westphalian Märkischer Kreis .
For the 2005 state election, the area of the previous constituency of Märkischer Kreis III of the district town of Iserlohn and the municipality of Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde was expanded to include the municipalities of Altena and Werdohl . So far (1980 to 2000) these formed the constituency of Märkischer Kreis I together with Herscheid , Meinerzhagen and Plettenberg .

In addition to the constituency member Thorsten Schick (CDU), who was able to win the constituency back from the SPD after seven years, the AfD direct candidate Alexander Langguth was elected on his party's state list. Langguth left the party and parliamentary group on September 27, 2017 and is now a non-attached member of the state parliament. The previous constituency member Michael Scheffler (SPD) left the state parliament because his 42nd place on the SPD state list was not enough for him to move back in.
