The state constituency of Märkischer Kreis I is a state constituency in the North Rhine-Westphalian Märkischer Kreis .

For the 2005 state election, the area of ​​the previous constituency of Märkischer Kreis III of the district town of Iserlohn and the municipality of Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde was expanded to include the municipalities of Altena and Werdohl . So far (1980 to 2000) these formed the constituency of Märkischer Kreis I together with Herscheid , Meinerzhagen and Plettenberg .

The previous constituency member Michael Scheffler (SPD) left the state parliament because his 42nd place on the SPD state list was not enough for him to move back in.
