The state constituency of Bielefeld I (constituency 92) is a constituency for the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia . It covers the core area of the independent city of Bielefeld with the districts of Mitte , Schildesche and Gadderbaum . In the last state election in 2005, the constituency was one of only two constituencies that the SPD in East Westphalia-Lippe was able to win. The constituency was newly established in this form for the 2005 state elections . From 1980 to 2005 there was a constituency 105 Bielefeld I , which included the Bielefeld districts Schildesche, Heepen , Dornberg and Jöllenbeck . Before 1980, there was a Bielefeld-Stadt I state electoral district with different delimitations.
In the 2010 state elections , voters were able to cast their first and second votes separately for the first time .

In addition to the constituency member Christina Kampmann (SPD), who was elected directly for the first time, the Green Party candidate Matthias Bolte-Richter was again elected to the state parliament from 14th place on the list.

Günter Garbrecht from the SPD was directly elected member of parliament in the 2012 state elections . Matthias Bolte from Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen was defeated in the direct election, but entered the state parliament via the state list of his party.
