The German Democratic Party (abbreviation: ddp ), from November 9, 2013 German democratic party , was a small German party . It was founded in 2004 in Königstein im Taunus . Your name alluded to the German Democratic Party of the Weimar Republic . In January 2015, the party disbanded according to its own information.

program

In 2009 the ddp published its current program under the motto “Neither capitalism nor socialism”. According to its own statements, the ddp stood up for democracy, freedom, fundamental rights and human rights in accordance with the Basic Law and the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Other values of the party were togetherness, compatibility of cultures and the separation of state and church. She also advocated the bandwidth model. With this, according to the party, a tax and economic model is possible, with the help of which the German national debt can be reduced to zero within five years. She campaigned for the unconditional basic income . It was called “Basic Income 2.0” in its own concept and should be paid by employers instead of the state.

With regard to European integration , the party took sovereignist positions against the backdrop of the euro crisis . She spoke out in favor of “the absolute sovereignty of Germany” and the concept of a “ Europe of fatherlands ”.

Furthermore, the ddp denied the status of the Basic Law as a constitution .

organization

In 2009 the ddp merged with the Gerechte Mitte Deutschland (GMD) party and the Strategy Party . A year later, the German Future Party also joined. Negotiations continued with the Pensioners Party of Germany , the Pensioners' Party (RRP) and the Alliance of the Middle (AdM).

The party's only active regional association was in Bavaria . In other federal states there were only state groups that were not legally (according to the federal returning officer) allowed for an election. There were also no district or local associations. The party's first election took place in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 . The party received 1,517 votes, which corresponds to 0.02 percent of the valid second votes . The best result was 2.01 percent in the Lippstadt-Hörste district, the only district with an active election campaign.

In the 2011 state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate, the ddp achieved 0.09 percent of the vote and in the 2011 Berlin House of Representatives election it also received 0.09 percent.
