Wolfgang Assbrock

Wolfgang Aßbrock (born September 10, 1952 in Enger ; † December 6, 2007 in Herford ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Aßbrock entered the higher service after the technical college entrance qualification in 1971 and completed civil servant training in the upper administrative service . He graduated in 1974. He then held various offices within the city of Bielefeld .

In 1992 he became the main clerk at the economic development agency in Bielefeld, and in 1995 he became project manager at the economic development agency in Bielefeld. Aßbrock has been head of the Bielefeld Technology Center since 2003.

Wolfgang Aßbrock had been a member of the CDU since 1969. He was a member of the city council of Enger for over 30 years, from 1980 to 2004 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the city council and for almost 20 years chairman of the planning committee of the city council of Enger. From 1995 to 2004 he was a member of the district council in Herford. Until his death, he was a member of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Assembly and the East Westphalia-Lippe Regional Council, of which he had been chairman since 2005.

In 2005 he became a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . For the state constituency of Herford I he was elected in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005 with 43.3 percent of the vote. He was a member of the committees for building and transport as well as for local politics and administrative structural reform of the state parliament. He was also involved in voluntary positions. His successor as a member of the state parliament is the Minister for Building and Transport Oliver Wittke (CDU).

Aßbrock had been with Annette Aßbrock, geb. Grottendiek, married and with her they have daughters Klaudia Friederike (* 1984) and Simone Charlotte (* 1988). He died on December 6, 2007 after a brief, serious illness.
