Rainer Spiecker

Rainer Spiecker (born July 30, 1961 in Wuppertal ) is a German textile entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ) and a former member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After completing secondary school, Rainer Spiecker completed an apprenticeship as a confectioner and later the master's examination. He then switched to the textile industry and has been running a family business in this industry since 2000.

politics

Rainer Spiecker joined the Junge Union at the age of 15 and later the CDU. He has been a member of the Wuppertal City Council since 1994. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , he won a mandate from his party's state list. He was the trade policy spokesman for his parliamentary group and a co-opted member of the state board of the CDU's SME Association. In 2017, he no longer stood in the state election . The CDU put him up in the constituency of Wuppertal I for the federal election in 2017 , but he was defeated by SPD rival Helge Lindh .
