Helge Lindh (born December 6, 1976 in Wuppertal ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He was elected to the 19th German Bundestag in Wuppertal .

Life

Lindh first studied applied cultural sciences at the University of Lüneburg and then sociology , German studies and history at the University of Bielefeld . At the University of Düsseldorf he studied Modern German Philology , German Linguistics , Modern and Modern History, including regional history and sociology. He completed this course as a Magister Artium .

From 2012 to 2017 he was a research assistant in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the SPD members Dietmar Bell , Andreas Bialas and Josef Neumann .

Lindh joined the SPD in 1999 and in 2012 became the commissioner for political education on the board of the SPD Wuppertal. He was active in the local Jusos and is chairman of the integration council of the city of Wuppertal. He was heavily involved in various SPD working groups in Wuppertal.

He stood at number 31 in the list of the SPD NRW in the 2017 federal election . In the 2017 federal election, he won the direct mandate in the Wuppertal I constituency with 31.5% of the first votes .

Helge Lindh is a full member of the Interior Committee and the Committee on Culture and Media.

Lindh is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process.

According to his own statements, Lindh has increasingly fallen victim to hacking since March 2018. His Facebook and Twitter accounts were hacked to spread racist news. His Amazon account was hacked in order to have dog waste and Korans delivered to his address - paid for with his credit card.

In January 2019, he and four other MPs visited a Sea Watch ship in the Mediterranean.
