Josef Neumann (politician, 1960)
Josef Neumann (born November 7, 1960 in Stary Targ , Poland ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010 .
Life
Josef Neumann and his siblings grew up as working-class children in the Gdansk Voivodeship in an extended Catholic-liberal family. At the age of eleven, he moved with his parents from Poland to Germany. After attending secondary school in Lippetal graduated Neumann 1976-1979 training as a concrete block and terrazzo and 1982-1984 training as support workers . Until 1988 he was employed in a workshop for the disabled .
In 1989/1990 he completed further training to become a trade union secretary at the DGB federal executive board. He then worked as a trade union secretary, most recently as managing director of the ÖTV district administration Rhein-Wupper.
From 2001 to 2011 Neumann was the managing director of Lebenshilfe Solingen eV, which operates a workshop for the disabled and other integration companies such as Integra, an ice rink and the integration company Genesis gGmbH.

Neumann has been a member of the SPD since 1977. In 2011 he was elected chairman of the SPD sub-district of Solingen.
From 1984 to 1990 he was a member of the council of the municipality of Lippetal . Neumann has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament since the 2010 state elections. There he represents the electoral district of Wuppertal III - Solingen II . In the early state elections on May 13, 2012 , Neumann successfully defended his constituency with 45.3% of the first votes .
In the state parliament he is a full member of the Committee on Labor, Health and Social Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Europe and One World.
Neumann represents North Rhine-Westphalia in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe .
