Hedwig Finger

Hedwig Finger (born January 5, 1899 in Siegen , † July 29, 1974 ibid) was a German politician ( CDU , DFU ).

After attending elementary school and then business school, Finger initially worked as an office worker and later became a businesswoman.

Between 1923 and 1933 she was a member of the Center Party and since 1930 chairwoman of Caritas in Siegen. Finger was also a member of the international peace movement since 1924 .

After 1945 she joined the CDU . In 1946 she was a member of the Provincial Council for Westphalia . In the first and second term of office she was a member of the appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1946 . Afterwards she was directly elected member of the state parliament for the constituency of Recklinghausen / Land until 1954.

In protest against rearmament, she left the CDU to join the DFU, for which she ran in vain in the 1961 federal election in the Meschede-Olpe constituency and on the North Rhine-Westphalian state list.

Finger was a long-time member of the German Peace Society .
