The District 7 is one of ten districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Dusseldorf . It includes the districts of Gerresheim , Grafenberg , Ludenberg , Hubbelrath and Knittkuhl . The form of the city districts to structure the city of Düsseldorf was introduced in 1975. The seat of the district administration is in the town hall of Gerresheim.

In contrast to other major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia such as Cologne or Duisburg , the city districts in Düsseldorf do not have proper names, but are only designated with a number.

In addition to the more densely built-up districts of Gerresheim and Grafenberg, the city district includes the rural Hubbelrath and the upscale residential area Ludenberg, which is largely characterized by villas and high-quality residential complexes. The city district lies on the foothills of the Bergisches Land . In Hubbelrath is at 165.2 m above sea level. NN the highest point in the city. The district is characterized by extensive hilly fields and forest areas. The Grafenberger and Aaper forest are important local recreation areas with walking, cycling and riding paths as well as numerous restaurants and beer gardens. Well-known and popular leisure facilities are the wildlife park , the Grafenberg racecourse , the Rochusclub , a glider airfield and a golf course . The historic town center of Gerresheim is also worth seeing. The Roland House , which was a well-known meeting point for artists in the mid-19th century under its resident Anton Fahne , is of certain historical importance .

Overall, the city district 7 is one of the most popular residential locations in the city of Düsseldorf, economically it plays a subordinate role.
