The District 9 is one of ten districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Dusseldorf . It includes the districts of Benrath , Hassels , Himmelgeist , Holthausen , Itter , Reisholz , Urdenbach and Wersten . The form of the city districts to structure the city of Düsseldorf was introduced in 1975. The seat of the district administration is in the town hall Benrath.

In contrast to other large cities in North Rhine-Westphalia such as Cologne or Duisburg , the city districts in Düsseldorf do not have proper names, but are only designated with a number.

At the last election of the district council in 2014, the population of the district who took part in the election voted 40.5% CDU , 31.2% SPD , 12.4% Greens , 5.2% FDP and 5.0% The left . The other parties accounted for 5.7%.
