The District 2 is one of ten districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Dusseldorf . It includes the districts of Flingern-Nord , Flingern-Süd and Düsseltal . The form of the city districts to structure the city of Düsseldorf was introduced in 1975. The seat of the district administration is on Grafenberger Allee.
In contrast to other major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia such as Cologne or Duisburg , the city districts in Düsseldorf do not have proper names , but are only designated with a number.
The districts themselves have a long tradition and history, but were incorporated into Düsseldorf to give the steadily growing city space for development. Düsseltal is more characterized by the upscale population and Flingern is changing from a former working class district to an affordable place to live and work for creative people and families.
District 2 is also home to the city's two major sports clubs. For example, you can visit the Fortuna Düsseldorf club in Flingern am Flinger Broich and the ice rink on Brehmstraße at the Zoological Garden in Düsseltal , where the Düsseldorfer EG used to play.
In the last local election in 2014 , the district's population who took part in the election voted 33.8% CDU , 28.9% SPD , 19.3% Greens , 6.3% FDP , 6.7% LINKE and The remaining parties accounted for 1.8%.
