The District 8 is one of ten districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Dusseldorf . It includes the districts of Eller , Lierenfeld , Unterbach and Vennhausen . The form of the city districts to structure the city of Düsseldorf was introduced in 1975. The seat of the district administration is in the Eller town hall.

In contrast to other major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia such as Cologne or Duisburg , the city districts in Düsseldorf do not have proper names , but are only designated with a number.

In addition to the more densely built-up districts of Eller, Lierenfeld and Vennhausen, the Unterbach district is characterized by the lake of the same name . In warm temperatures, this is a popular destination for Düsseldorf residents and residents of the surrounding area. There are two bathing beaches and a campsite .

In the last local election in 2014 , the population of the district who took part in the election voted 36.6% CDU , 38.9% SPD , 10.5% Greens , 3.8% FDP , 6.0% LEFT , 1.9% REP and 2.4% were accounted for by the free voters.
