Martin Schönenborn

Martin Schönenborn (born November 1, 1897 in Honsbachermühle ; † January 14, 1967 ) was a trade unionist, politician of the Center Party and, after 1945, the CDU as well as district administrator and police president.

Schönenborn was employed after elementary school. Later he attended the social school in Spandau and the labor law academy in Cologne . Between 1918 and 1924 he worked in child welfare . From 1927 he was managing director of the Christian metal workers' association . He was also a state labor judge and state finance judge. Since 1954 Schönenborn was police chief of Wuppertal .

Politics and mandates

Between 1919 and 1933 Schönenborn was a member of the Center Party and between 1927 and 1933 district chairman of the party.

In 1945 Schönenborn was one of the founders of the CDU in the Düsseldorf-Mettmann district . Between 1946 and 1947 he was a member of the district council. In the years 1946 to 1948 he was District Administrator of the circle. Schönenborn belonged to the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1946 and 1947 . He was then directly elected member of parliament for a constituency in the Düsseldorf-Mettmann district in the first and second electoral terms of the state parliament. Because of his appointment as police president, Schönenborn left the state parliament prematurely on May 5, 1954.
