Peter Knitsch (born May 15, 1960 in Düsseldorf ) is a German political official . From 2003 to 2005 he was State Secretary in the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Agriculture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein and from 2013 to 2017 State Secretary in the Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

From 1982 onwards, Knitsch studied law, history and sociology at the University of Bonn . After the first state examination in 1988 in Bonn, he worked until 1991 at the University's Criminological Institute (Prof. Marquart) as part of a research project on cooperation between environmental administration and law enforcement authorities.
