Manfred Mezger

Manfred Mezger (born April 11, 1911 in Stuttgart , † October 19, 1996 ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

He studied theology and philosophy at the University of Tübingen (1929–1930 / 1932–1933), at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin (1930–1931), University of Marburg (1931–1932) and at the State University of Music Leipzig church music (1935-1936). After receiving his doctorate in 1947 with Carl Leonhardt in Tübingen, he was a lecturer there from 1948 to 1956 . After his habilitation in 1956, he taught from 1958 to 1973 as a professor of practical theology at the Protestant Theological Faculty in Mainz .
