Manfred Rabatsch

Manfred Rabatsch (born May 16, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German politician, social worker and author.

Rabatsch was a social worker in the youth welfare office in Berlin-Kreuzberg . He did neighborhood work there and was active in child and youth welfare. In the 1968 movement he campaigned against the living conditions in German children's homes.

In 1981 he moved into the Berlin House of Representatives as one of nine elected representatives for the Alternative List ( 9th electoral term ). Due to the rotation principle prevailing in the party at the time , he resigned his mandate in 1983. Rabatsch headed the youth committee in parliament until 1983. He refused to allow his committee to vote on the introduction of the daycare fees that the Senate had decided at the time. His amusing verbal battles with CDU parliamentary group vice-president Klaus Landowsky , whom he often addressed as Mr. Landoooooofsky , became known, which led to Mr. Rabbatz's answer .

Rabatsch is a retired senior social councilor. He published, among other things, on the subject of performance obligations of youth welfare offices in young people with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He also published a book about Riehmers Hofgarten , a residential area in the “bourgeois” part of Kreuzberg.
