Riccardo Maffoni (born June 2, 1977 in Orzinuovi , province of Brescia ) is an Italian cantautore .

Career

Maffoni grew up with American rock and blues and was influenced by musicians such as Bob Dylan , Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen . As a teenager he began to play the guitar by himself. First he performed with various local bands until he tried his hand at being a soloist from 1997. He recorded several demos , played a Bruce Springsteen tribute and opened concerts by u. a. Willie Nile , Graham Parker , Malfunk, as well as the PFM and the Nomadi . In the early 2000s, he also gained more attention by winning several awards and in 2002 he won the Castrocaro Festival with Le circostanze di Napoleone , which also allowed him to participate in the television show Destinazione Sanremo .

In 2002 Maffoni signed his first record deal with CGD East West ( Warner ) and in 2004 his debut album Storie di chi vince a metà was released . With Sole negli occhi he was able to enter the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival 2006 , which he won. A new edition of his first album was then released. In 2008 he released his second album Ho preso uno spavento . After extensive live activities, the EP was released in 2011 on the independent label EVE in 1977 . The next album Faccia followed in 2018 .
