Orzinuovi is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,552 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 28 kilometers southwest of Brescia and about 60 kilometers east of Milan on the eastern bank of the Oglio . It borders directly on the provinces of Bergamo and Cremona .

The settlement was founded in 1193 as the fortress of Orci Novi . From 1466 to 1797 it was part of the Republic of Venice .
