Rodengo-Saiano is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9841 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 11.5 kilometers northwest of Brescia in the Franciacorta . In 1927 the municipalities of Rodengo and Saiano were merged.

Rodengo-Saiano is halfway on the former Strada Statale 510 Sebina Orientale (now a provincial road) from Brescia to Lake Iseo . The nearest train station is a few kilometers away in Paderno Franciacorta .

Attractions
A Cluniac monastery had existed in Rodengo since around 1100 and was consecrated to St. Nicholas . In the early late Middle Ages, monastery life there fell into disrepair, so that in the 15th century the old abbey was handed over to monks of the Reformed order of the Olivetans. The new monks arranged for the imposing monastery to be rebuilt. The current buildings date from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century. In 1797 the monastery was suppressed. It was not until 1969 that was Olivetans - Abbey San Nicola repopulated again by monks of the Order. The abbey church and the great cloister from the 15th century deserve special attention .
