Attractions
San Francesco Church
From 1289 , Francis of Assisi had a church and a monastery built here. Only one outside of the church remains in a modified form. The cloister with its variously decorated columns is worth seeing .
The interior of the church was rebuilt several times in the 17th and 18th centuries.
San Martino Church
This church stands on the remains of an older church. Only the bell tower, a renaissance-like construction, remained of the original structure. The first draft of the parish church is said to have been made by a Trentino architect. The completion of the building was entrusted to the Brescian architect Vantini in 1837 . Inside there are pictures by Giovanni Andrea Bertanza and GB Cesari and a virgin Moretto on the main altar.
Villa Feltrinelli
The villa, which formerly belonged to the family of the paper manufacturer Feltrinelli and where Benito Mussolini lived during the fascist republic of Salò from 1943 to 1945 , is now the Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli . The American hotelier and millionaire Robert H. Burns bought the villa in 1997, invested around 30 million euros and saved it from deterioration. 80 employees take care of a maximum of 40 guests in the luxury hotel.
Villa Bettoni
The Palazzo Bettoni in the Bogliaco fraction, which still belongs to the counts of the same name and was built by the architect A. Cristofori, is located directly on the lake and has a very beautiful Italian garden, which was designed by Amerigo Pianelli, on the land side, but through the through road Gardesana Occidentale is separated from the Palazzo.
Events
Every year at the beginning of September, the Centomiglia (a hundred-mile regatta) starts from Bogliaco with sailing boats across Lake Garda.
