Polpenazze del Garda is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2710 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy .

The municipality is located about 21 kilometers east of Brescia and about four kilometers west of the western shore of Lake Garda . The State Road 45 Garda Occidentale limits on the west side.

history

The castle was built in the 10th century to ward off invasions by the Hungarians. The prehistoric pile dwellings from the Bronze Age that were found near the parish have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011 .
