Adro is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7251 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 24 kilometers northwest of Brescia and about 23 kilometers southeast of Bergamo and about 62 kilometers east-northeast of Milan in the Franciacorta . It is 6 kilometers to Lake Iseo.
history
Archaeological excavations in the district of Torbiato indicate a settlement in the Neolithic Age. Adro (as Atro ) was first mentioned in a document in 822. The fort was built between the 13th and 14th centuries. From 1426 to 1797, Adro was part of the Republic of Venice . Torbiato has been part of the municipality since 1928.

Together with the district of Borgonato in the neighboring municipality of Corte Franca, there is a train station on the Cremona – Iseo railway line .
