Pian Camuno is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4770 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 34.5 kilometers north-northwest of Brescia in the lower Valcamonica east of the Oglio and borders the province of Bergamo . The Lake Iseo is located about 6 kilometers southwest of Pian Camuno.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in December 837. The place or the community only got its current name in 1863, before it was called Pla or Piano . From 1816 to 1859 the community was still called Piano con Beata, Solato e Vissone .

traffic

Pian Camuno and its train station ( Piancamuno-Gratacasolo ) are on the Brescia – Iseo – Edolo railway line . The former Strada Statale 345 delle Tre Valli (now the Provincial Road Brescia (SPBS) 345) runs through the municipality from Brescia to Breno .
