Polaveno is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2475 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers northwest of Brescia between Val Trompia and Lake Iseo on the Gombiera .

history

The name of the place in its historical spelling (including Polaen , Zoadel and Paolander ) suggests a Greek origin. In 1409, Pandolf II, a member of the Malatesta family , gave the place local jurisdiction.
