Bovezzo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7561 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 6 kilometers north-northeast of Brescia in the Valle Trompia .

history

The original Latin name Buetium indicates an ancient settlement. In fact, numerous finds already indicate settlement in the late Bronze Age. The actual village of Bovezzo has medieval origins. Until the conquest by Napoleon, the settlement was ruled by the Republic of Venice during the Renaissance . The Accademia Musicale Giovanni Gabrieli has been based here since 1979.
