Casto ( called Cast in the local dialect ) is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1660 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Val Sabbia in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 21 kilometers north-northeast of Brescia and belongs to the Comunità Montana della Valle Sabbia . The Nozza (a tributary of the Chiese in Val Sabbia) flows through Casto and has its source in the Alone district .
