Borgo San Giacomo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5394 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 29.5 kilometers southwest of Brescia in the Parco dell'Oglio Nord and borders directly on the province of Cremona . The southern boundary of the municipality forms the Oglio .
history
In 1485 the fortress, the Castello Martinengo , was built in the Padernello district . In 1927, the municipality of Borgo San Giacomo was joined by the present districts and then independent municipalities of Acqualungo , Farfengo , Motella and Padernello .
