Benjamin Hedges
Benjamin Hedges ( Benjamin Van Doren "Ben" Hedges Jr .; born June 8, 1907 in Plainfield , New Jersey , † December 31, 1969 in New York City ) was an American high jumper .
In 1927 and 1928 he was fourth in the US championship. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , his compatriot Bob King won with 1.94 in front of Hedges and three other athletes who had skipped 1.91. In the jump-off, Hedges won the silver medal ahead of the Frenchman Claude Ménard .
In 1929 Hedges became IC4A master. He set his personal best of 1,981 m on February 6, 1932 in New York City in the hall.
